Homelessness is a universal issue that deals with mental ill, substance abuse, unemployment, and self-desire. We know how homelessness can impact a community. I will format a Neighborhood Council that will focus on issues and concerns of the community, and especially homeless, crime, abatement, and environmental hazards.
The beauty of Fairfield is its diversity and our landmarks like Travis Air Force Base, Jelly Belly, and Budweiser. The joy of Fairfield is its golf courses like Paradise Valley, Rancho Solano, and Green Valley. I will not allow these businesses and other family own businesses leave our community; I will fight for their existence and advocate for more businesses to be a part of the Fairfield community and become the next Silicon Valley.
Crime has always been an issue in communities, I know firsthand about public safety, that is why I will lobby for a Crime Prevention Coordinator that will work closely with Public Safety and Community Development Unit in issues of quality of life, and crime. The Crime Prevention Coordinator will help coordinate neighborhood councils, community events, and crime prevention methods.
Abandoned vehicles, depilated homes, graffiti, illegal parking these type issues affect the quality of life of our residents. I will propose that we hire more qualified code enforcement officer or form a unit that will be housed under the community development unit. The officers will focus on City Ordinance and municipal codes throughout the city. Each District will have a code enforcement officer assigned to them.
